Views of Interested Parties

The views of interested parties are an opportunity for the business to broaden its information in relation to environmental issues. In some case, these views are a potential sources of conflict and adverse publicity.

ISO 14001 4.3.3 shall consider the views of interested parties when setting environmental objectives and target.


Interested parties include :

Agencies and authorities at all jurisdictions such as :

  • Environment Australia;
  • Environmental Protection Authority;
  • Departments of Minerals and Energy;
  • Office of Regulator General;
  • Departments of Heritage, Conservation, Agriculture;
  • Water authorities; and
  • Politicians and ministers.
Interest Groups :
  • environment and conservation;
  • friends of the local creek catchment group;
  • schools;
  • recreation, travel and tourism;
  • professional associations.
Affected neighbours, groups and individuals who may be affected by the company's operations including noise, dust, odour or reduction in the value of an asset;

Wider community; and
